Instagram has released an update that allows you to select who
amongst your Instagram followers get to see certain pictures of your feed. The
newest version of Instagram enables users to send photos and video messages to
their specific friends, similar to Twitter's Direct Messages feature. And since
the update is already out, iOS and Android users can now update their Instagram
software to avail this great feature. For beginners on Instagram Direct, here's
how.
To start, launch your Instagram app. Capture the photo or video
you wish to post by tapping the camera icon located at the bottom of your
Instagram homepage. Or if you want to select an existing file, tap the Camera
Roll button on
the View finder page. Select your preferred filter setting, as any Instagram
user would normally do, and then compose your caption or message to describe
the photo or video you are posting. Now, tap DIRECT at the top portion of the screen, and
then select the recipients whom you want to send your post to, by tapping the
circle next to their names. If you have a very long list of friends and you
already have a specific list of names in mind, you can make it easier by
entering the name of your friend in the To: field, and then tap the circle next to
their name once it appears on the search result.
When you're done selecting your group of friends whom you want
to send your post to, tap the SEND option at the bottom of the page. It's
that easy!
Now, if you want to view the message you just posted, simply tap
the tray icon at the upper right-hand corner of your home page to open your
Instagram Direct page.
If you think you wish you never had posted something because of
the negative feedback it created, you can also delete your messages from the
same page. To do this, tap the entry you want to delete, and then tap the
three-dotted button beside the Add a comment field. Tap the Delete
this post option,
then on the confirmation alert screen, tap Delete.
